The LMD is a MIAME compliant microarray data warehouse based on Stanford Microarray Database and Longhorn Array Database, and was modified to accommodate our own arrays. LMD stores raw data, processed data, and image files. LMD also has data analysis functions such as gene search, data normalization and visualization etc. Currently, LMD primarily stores microarray data related to lung biology collected by the Lung Biology and Toxicology Laboratory. It will expand to meet the need of other researchers in this field (for suggestions, contact Dr. Lin Liu, liulin@okstate.edu). We hope that LMD will provide a site for lung community to search their favor genes and perform data mining from the high throughput microarray experiments. This site also contains a link to published papers on lung microarray. . More

LBTL is divided into three groups: one investigates molecular mechanisms of lung surfactant secretion; another explores gene expression of cell differentiation during lung injury and repair, and fetal lung development. The third one studies Cl- channels and their roles in alveolar fluid transport. Interaction of environmental insults (e. g. oxidative/nitrosative stress) with alveolar cells is also one of focuses in the lab. The projects in LBTL involve multiple levels from gene to whole animal. Major techniques used include DNA microarray, RNA interference, real time PCR, cloning, and various molecular and cellular techniques etc.

LBTL lab community offers forums open to public for discussion on various topics such as RNAi, DNA microarray, and real-time PCR etc. This site also hosts a discussion group on LBTL lab issues accessible by LBTL members only. Additionally, it provides links to other web sites and software that are useful to lung community including DNA microarray, RNAi, Rat resources, Grant, and Symposium etc. More
