How to submit experimental data.

LMD uses a complete-server-side paradigm for its access to your data.

This means you must have your data files uploaded to www.lungmicroarray.org.

You will need to use SFTP to place your data in your incoming directory on www.lungmicroarray.org.

Please note:  even though the application is on www.lungmicroarray.org - you SFTP your data to www.lungmicroarray.org.

SFTP is available on all of the lab machines.

Simply start in a command prompt in the directory with all of your data files.

Then do the following commands (using your username, of course):

sftp <your username>@www.lungmicroarray.org

You should now have a bunch of TIF, GPR, and GPS files in your incoming directory.

If you prefer to use a graphical client to move your files, please follow these instructions:

Double-click the SecEx Security Express icon on the desktop.

If you do not find this icon - use another program called WinSCP.

Don't have SecEx Security Express Lite on your machine?

Get it here (for free, of course).

You may also consider another awesome SFTP program - WinSCP.

When you are done, simply Remove the profile.  This will log you out and leave the system ready for the next user.

You have your files on the server, it is now time to upload the data to the application.

IMPORTANT:

Please delete your files from you incoming directory as soon as the experiment has completed submission into LMD.

Complete submission can take up to one hour so please be sure to wait until you recieve the "data loaded" email before you delete these files.

The files are then no longer needed in your incoming directory and will be eating valuable disk space.
