How to split multi-channel TIFF files into single-channel TIFF files.

The Lung Microarray Database requires that you have two separate TIFF files for experimental data submission.

If you have previously saved your TIFFs as multi-channel files this could mean that it would take quite some time for you to use GenePix® to create two single-channel images for every one of your multi-channel images.

In order to make your life better, we have provided a GenePix® Automation script that will allow you to submit a "batch" of multi-channel files to be processed.

Special Note:

Please be sure that your batch list of file names does NOT contain files that have spaces or parentheses.

Also, be sure that your batch list of file names contains files with ABSOLUTE paths (directory name MUST be included.

Another Special Note:

There is an unintended feature in the current version of the split images script (aka, bug).  GenePix® has built into it the idea of a "last loaded" and "last saved" directory.  In order for this script to work you need to set these to the same directory in which your batch text file and TIFF images reside.  How to do this?  Simply load an image and then save it.  That will point GenePix® to your current directory.  You are now ready to rock and perhaps roll.
